As you know, honey is a great throat soother and garlic is an immunity booster. Combined with an economic cut, this Crispy Belly pork recipe will see us through these tough times. belly pork is the same area of the pig that we cut bacon from, so expect a lot of fat and meat marbled through. The resulting meat is very juicy and flavoursome.

Ingredients:ingredients for Crispy belly pork honey Garlic sauce

Belly Pork 400g

¼ cup of Honey

3 tablespoons of Soy Sauce

4 cloves minced Garlic

2 tablespoons of sesame seeds

Here is how to make this recipe:

Cut the belly pork into small squares, and fry in a skillet pan on high heat. Do not add any cooking oils or fats, as the belly pork will cook in its own fat. You may need to do this in batches. When the meat has cooked, the fat will have melted down, and the skin will be crispy.  Set aside the meat.

If there is a lot of fat in your skillet pan, pour a little off. Add the honey, soy sauce and garlic and blend over medium heat. Place the crispy belly pork back into the pan and coat with the sauce to heat through.

In a separate frying pan, dry heat the sesame seeds, be careful not to burn them. Once toasted, sprinkle over your dish

Serves 2 persons. Goes well with either rice or grated cauliflower.
